252412 - Me Too!

This parent/child class is designed to teach you to work safely in the water with your child, aged 6-35 months. Skills will be taught at an introductory level, including pool safety, water acclimation, floating and gliding with support, submerging, and blowing bubbles through the mouth and/or nose.

252419 - Private Lessons

Recieve one-on-one coaching with a certified SwimAmerica coach! You will receive a set number of classes with a built in miss class. There will be no make-up lessons or rescheduling for any absences beyond one lesson. While we cannot guarantee the same coach for every lesson, there will always be a certified SwimAmerica coach available for your lesson.

252421 - Station 1

Prerequisite: Three years old and comfortable in the group class setting without a parent.

Your child will learn to put his or her face in the water and blow nose bubbles while completing ten relaxed bobs.

Per community center policy, parents who have swimmers 9 years old and under must remain on deck while their child is in swim classes.

At Mason Swim Academy we want your swim lesson to be as successful as possible. You can help by arriving 5 minutes early and coming to class dressed and ready for the pool. For swimmers in Stations 1-3 this includes:
--- a well-fitting swim suit,
--- a hairband or swim cap to keep hair away from the face, and
--- swimming goggles (not a mask or snorkel) if they help your child feel more comfortable in the water.

252422 - Station 2

Your child will build on the skills learned in Station 1 and add on gliding on the front and back in streamline position and rolling from front to back float.

252423 - Station 3

In Station 3 your child will enhance his or her skills by learning proper kicking and combining it with their breath control and streamlining skills.

252424 - Station 4

Your child will learn slide glide kick with breath and the front crawl stroke while continuing to practice skills learned in previous Stations.

252425 - Station 5/6

Your child will add on to the techniques acquired in previous stations, begin learning proper freestyle stroke by combining the skills mastered in station 4, and will learn backstroke.

252426 - Stroke School

Swimmers in Stroke School will learn advanced elements and stroke efficiency in all four strokes including breastroke, butterfly, backstroke, and freestyle. Stroke School meets twice a week and includes the skills taught in Stations 7 and 8 of the Mason Swim Academy Learn to Swim program.

Please note, a pair of long swim fins (with non-adjustable backs) is recommended for all upper level swimmers.

252427 - Swim Fit

SwimFit is Station 9 and 10 of Mason Swim Academy’s Learn to Swim program. It focuses on building the swimmer’s strength and endurance in every stroke through drills, multiple laps, and on-deck coachingfrom a certified coach. SwimFit allows swimmers to get the feeling of being on a swim team without the competition.

Please note, a pair of long swim fins (with non-adjustable backs) is recommended for all upper level swimmers.

252434 - Adult Group Lessons

Beginner adults with little or no experience in the water will work on various skills and techniques to achieve the goal of water acclimation, submersion, and floating one the front and the back.
